Adriana Helps The Less Fortunate

Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima, well known for her charity work at an orphanage in Brazil, has been helping the less fortunate again - this time in New York. She attended an event along with Catherine Kennedy, daughter of JFK, for the Dance For Tolerance program; helping young people to give peace a chance. It brings together teenagers from Brazil, Columbia and New York for a week of dance workshops inter-cultural dialog and brainstorming about social change. Adriana was also sporting new darker locks, we love them!

Brazilians Party In The Hamptons

Victoria Secret goddess Alessandra Ambrosio was forced to strut a mile out of her way - in tottering, sky-high stilettos after police blocked off Tuckahoe Lane beside club Stereo by the Shore, where she was throwing a party for her best buds, models Ana Beatriz and Fernanda Motta.

But once she got there, the gorgeous gang partied hard, eating mountains of cake decorated with portraits of the birthday girls. One male onlooker said the models were girly and playful. "Alessandra had cake on her nose, and Ana Beatriz whipped it off; very cute," he said.

According to the lovely people at adrianaflima, Adriana has recently found her father, with the help of her boyfriend, and made up with him after he walked out on her and her mother at 6 months old. She is currently in Rio doing some spiritual finding with the bahian 'guru' Tereza Ramarajara for some 'internal conflicts' she has been having. Adriana made some espiritualistas treatments that helped free her of her problems.

Alessandra Update

Just time for an update on one of my favourite models....she has just been shooting YET ANOTHER Armani A/X campaign for fall 2007, she will be on the July cover of Amica (Germany), she will also shoot the Zoomp campaign on June 15th and will walk the runway for them exclusivley on June 14th! Some say 25 is too old for a model but this girl just keeps getting bigger and bigger! And for it we love her!

Models Branch Out From The Runway

Models no longer live by the catwalk alone. Fashion’s current crop of beauties are caught up in all kinds of extracurricular projects—from filmmaking to dancing to music, styling and jewelry design.

One of the best examples of this new breed is songstress-turned-runway rambler Irina Lazareanu. She has an album coming out in August and, to dabble in another facet of fashion, tried her hand at styling for the first time—and photography—for an upcoming issue of V. For the project, she gathered some cohorts, including Daria Werbowy, Gemma Ward and Lily Cole, so that nine girls could pose together for a spread in the magazine. “Maybe I’ll do a project with different generations of models,” muses Lazareanu, who adds that Nicolas Ghesquière and Karl Lagerfeld were particularly supportive of her styling initiation.

So how did Lazareanu feel about being on the other side of a fashion shoot? She loved it, especially the styling, but adds: “It was very freaky. I had to make sure the girls got ready, got dressed. And I’m just a friend. It really was a challenge. It took 10 years off of my life.” A glutton for punishment, maybe, but Lazareanu is so keen on styling that she also just tried her hand at another shoot—this time for an edition of Vogue.

When it comes to music, Lazareanu says she will be wrapping up in June Some Place Along the Way, the album she’s recording with Sean Lennon (who is also its producer). The two play guitars and sing songs such as “Thirty Years Ago,” “Strange Place” and “To the One I’ve Never Met,” penned either by Lazareanu herself or Lazareanu with Lennon. Exceptionally, Lennon and Pete Doherty (frontman for Babyshambles, the band for which Lazareanu has written songs) might perform Bob Dylan’s “Girl From North Country.” “I love that song,” she says, adding her music mentors beside Dylan include Leonard Cohen, Billie Holiday and Joan Baez.

Some Place Along the Way should be released in October or November. Lazareanu says she and Lennon—who are still hashing out their band’s name—might perform in the U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival, also in June.

Not to say that with all this practice, getting up onstage with her acoustic guitar ever gets any easier for Lazareanu. “I have very bad stage fright, so I am the worst,” she says. “I don’t get it when I’m modeling; that’s not as personal. You’re not out there as much. Then, I am showing someone else’s work.” She says singing her own songs “is terrifying. It’s almost like reading your diary out loud.”

Backstage during this past season’s ready-to-wear shows, Sasha Pivovarova wasn’t just getting her face painted and her hair done; she also had a pencil in hand, preparing for a big art happening. The model was working on numerous projects, including portraits based on her and her best buddies, Vlada Roslyakova, Snejana Onopka, Julie Stegner and Jessica Stam.

“They are big paintings on recycled paper,” she explains. “I started with pencils, then used a glass of wine, coffee—everything I could find.” Pivovarova says that by using particular colors, she tried to convey how she sees each individual person. The stunner is no newcomer to art, saying she’s been doing it “for as long as I can remember.” Pivovarova says she hopes to show her creations in a gallery soon.

One fan is designer Giambattista Valli, who has some of Pivovarova’s artwork—made out of makeup—on his wall at home, surrounded by art by Andy Warhol, Jean Cocteau, Leonor Fini and Giacinto Cerrone. “I see her as an artist before being a model or anything else,” Valli says. “She’s a muse to designers, but in the way she thinks, dresses and lives, she is very much an artist.”

It’s no surprise that the lure of Hollywood is strong for models, who are already accustomed to playing different roles on the runway. Ward, for one, recently completed a sabbatical during which she played a supporting role in the upcoming movie, The Black Balloon, alongside Toni Collette. Directed by Elissa Down, the film—produced by an all-Australian crew—tackles an adolescent boy’s difficulty in coming to terms with his autistic brother. Ward, who plays the adolescent’s girlfriend, Jackie, says she enjoyed the research into the characters and time periods. She also likes the camaraderie. “Everyone became so close, since we spent so much time together on the set,” Ward says. The film is due to be screened in festivals by the end of this year and will be released next year.

Gisele Admits She 'Did A Britney'

Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen shaved off all her hair during a low point in her rocky relationship with actor Leonardo Dicaprio.

The sexy star - who dated the Blood Diamond actor on/off for five years - has lent her support to troubled superstar Britney Spears, who shaved off her long locks earlier this year.Bundchen says, "It was not a fun time in my life - but I know the shame and torment Britney went through, when she cut all her hair off..."

"I immediately regretted my hasty decision and flew to Brazil to hide out with my family till it grew back. I'll never cut it again - I think my success as a model is down to my boobs and my hair."

Gisele Gets Snapped In NYC

Ah, the pitfalls of dating an international fashion icon. Sometimes, a three-time Super Bowl stud is merely her photographer.

Gisele Bundchen and her New England Patriots QB/QT were out for a stroll in the Big Apple the other day, when a group of Gisele groupies begged the supermodel for a pic. And, since all the gals wanted to be in the photo - they enlisted Tom to do the snapping!

He was happy to oblige, we’re told, and before you could say “cheese” the snaps wound up on fansite giselefan.org.

Meanwhile, the professional paps who dog the couple about the Big Apple report that, before the fan encounter, Tom and Gi were out to a Mother’s Day breakfast with her dad, Valdir, and sis, Patricia. So No. 12’s met the fam!!!

It was a little farewell party for the happy couple - Gi was due in Brazil yesterday to be photographed by fashion shooter Mario Testino for the September issue of Vanity Fair.

Gisele and Tom To Marry?

First comes love, and then comes marriage and then comes Brady with the- well you know how the saying goes. Even though New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady already has a baby carriage at the ready as ex Bridget Moynahan is pregnant with his baby he may be talking marriage with the former supermodel Gisele Bundchen.

Though they may not be exactly following the script, the Brazilian bombshell and soon-to-be-ex-Victoria’s Secret model Gisele, 26, has a new "secret", reports Life & Style Weekly. Citing an insider the mag claims that she and the superstar quarterback are getting married!

The insider tells Life & Style the wedding will be an intimate, romantic affair in Rome to which only family and close friends will be invited. “When Gisele was in Europe in February, she visited a couple of houses,” says the insider. “She wasn’t just looking for a place to live - she was looking for a place to get married in and then live!”

Gisele and Tom have been an item since December and the insider says the two are hoping a very important guest can make it: Tom’s baby. Bridget is due this summer.

Selita Ebanks : Engaged!

Nick Cannon and Selita Ebanks are engaged to be married, after the actor proposed to the Victoria's Secret model Monday with the help of a jumbotron in Times Square, his rep told PEOPLE.

The actor got on one knee with a 12-carat diamond ring immediately after they left the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Gala, when they were chauffeured in a Rolls Royce to Times Square, according to the rep. Projected on a giant MTV jumbotron were the words, "Selita will you marry me?"

"They got engaged last night," Ebanks's agent, Chris Gay of Women Model Management told PEOPLE on Tuesday. "He took her to Times Square last night and did it in the center of Times Square. Then they had a party after the Met Gala to celebrate.

As the couple made their way through the crowd holding hands, Ebanks was smiling from ear to ear. Upon coming up to one man, she exclaimed, "Nick! Have you met my brother?" The couple left the party at 3 a.m. and caught a private plane back to L.A.

Gisele To Launch Lingerie Range?

Gisele Bundchen is counting down the seconds until her contract with Victoria's Secret runs out so she can cash in on her new deal with H&M. Page Six sources tell us the bronzed beauty - who is always on the arm of boyfriend Tom Brady - is "negotiating a lingerie line" with the label. "Gisele has been in talks with H&M for a long time, but for legal issues she has to wait for her Victoria's Secret contract to end to start the project." Reps for Bundchen did not comment.

Gisele Signs To Cacharel

Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen has signed a multi-million dollar deal to become the new face of cosmetic giant Cacharel's new fragrance Liberte. The news comes just after it was revealed Bundchen had parted ways with lingerie company Victoria's Secret.

Cacharel chose Bundchen because of her popularity in Europe, the Middle East, Japan and China. Alexander Keller, a spokesperson for Cacharel Perfumes Germany, says, "Gisele Bundchen embodies perfectly our fragrance Liberte. She stands for the freedom and independence of young women."

Bundchen adds, "I am so happy and so grateful that I am in a situation, where I can be myself, speak out openly, can do what is important to me and have the freedom to live my life in a way that I can be content with it. I think Liberte is a very strong word and a cool project. Everybody should work on being free. That should be everybody's mission for 2007: Work on being free!"

The 26-year-old will appear in TV, magazine and billboard ads for Cacharel, showing her posing on top of the Teide volcano on the Spanish Canary Island of Tenerife.

Keep your eyes open because on May 7th it's the annual Costume Institute Gala in NYC. It's often quite the model hotspot - Gisele is already confirmed to be attending and wearing YSL.

Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio has been hanging out and enjoying the music at the Coachella festival the last few days with some of her closest friends - she looks stunning as usual!

She's A Sweetheart Away From The Camera Too!

Watching your daughter grow into adulthood is hard enough, but imagine if she made more money than you, was most recognisable in her undies, and had to issue statements claiming that she's "just friends" with major movie heart throbs?

Since Miranda Kerr was discovered in a Dolly model search 11 years ago, her dad John Kerr has stood in the shadows as she has gone on to become one of Australia's most successful international models, and these days, she's generating her own star power.

The first Australian Victoria's Secret "Angel" is at Australian Fashion Week, but due to an exclusive deal with Alex Perry her working week is over. Instead she's watching the shows from the front row — on Tuesday, she was spotted at Kirrily Johnston and Jayson Brunsdon.

After closing Monday's Alex Perry show, Miranda let the backstage snappers wait while she hugged her dad and had a quick catch up. After she moved off to face the cameras, I dashed over to talk to John, who was trying to keep out of the way as TV crews and well-wishers swarmed the dressing room.

John Kerr is a friendly, warm country bloke who kindly agreed to answer a couple of questions about his daughter.

So, what is it like to see your little girl transformed into a fashion siren?"It is a bit surreal," John said. "This is the first time I've seen her in a big fashion show, and I didn't even get inside!"Her mum is in there, I was lucky to even get backstage. I was trying to get in back here and they wouldn't have a bar of it, I was walking away when ‘Ran spotted me and basically flat-out said, 'if my dad doesn't get in I'm not doing it'."

John and wife Therese raised Miranda and her brother Matt in Gunnedah, near Tamworth in regional NSW.John says Miranda is well known in town — with a population of under 8000 it wouldn't take much for her to stand out! — but when she comes home, "she's just 'Ran. She's a ratbag".

"When we're in the city, or in public places like the airport people stand back and look at her open-mouthed."Sometimes if I ride on an escalator behind her and her mum I can see people going past asking each other: 'Is that her?'. I nod at them and say, 'Yep, it's Miranda," he beams.

It can't all be easy, though. How many 24-year-olds can afford their own $1 million apartment in New York, film videos with Kayne West and Pharrell, and fend off allegations that they're house hunting with Orlando Bloom?

"I always worry. But I just know she's so level headed, we can trust her, and she and her mum are more like girlfriends so she can talk to us about anything. She's really grounded, she appreciates it all and takes it in her stride, and treats everyone how she'd like to be treated."

Meeting Miranda later that night as she sits having a drink with her parents, it turns out John is right. It won't be long before we see even more of Miranda Kerr — she has irons in the fire — 'The Body' will have to hand that title over to a new generation very soon.

Gisele HAS Left VS

It's now official : Gisele Bundchen is no longer a Victoria's Secret Angel.

Gisele's agent has told people.com that she has in fact left VS. Apparently the reason is that she was demanding a raise in her $5 million a year salary to model lingerie for the brand, which they were not willing to pay- a source remarking they have "they have five new hotter, younger girls debuting next year".

“The long and fruitful relationship between Gisele Bundchen and Victoria’s Secret has reached a conclusion,” said Edward Razek, chief creative officer, Victoria’s Secret, in a statement. “We wish her all the best and thank her for her extraordinary work. She will continue to be a very visible party of the world’s sexiest brand through the remainder of the year.”

I will be sad to see her leave VS, however I anticipate she will now turn to focus more on her high fashion career and it will be good to see the old Gisele back! AND how could we forget....roll on the new Angel!
